Happy Advent Season
We are called in the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations to slow down and be mindful of the Advent Season. Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus. We do this through prayer, penance, and simplifying our lives. I pray that we all encounter hope, peace, joy and love this Advent Season.
KSBW toy drive
Thank you to everyone who donated toys for the KSBW “Share Your Holiday” Toy Drive! We collected 100 toys for children in need!
Food and Gift Cards
We are still collecting non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank as well as gift cards for teenagers from Hopes Closet of Santa Cruz. All items are due on Friday, December 13th.
SC Faith Formation Conference
Eight students, along with Ms. McLeod and Fr. Thien, will attend the California Catholic Ministry Conference in San Jose on December 7. The conference will provide an opportunity for our youth to grow their Catholic leadership, especially in the areas of masses and liturgies. We are excited to see their ideas and experiences come to life in our upcoming masses.
Winter Sports Prayer Service: Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 3:00 pm
All winter sports athletes are invited to a prayer service on Wednesday, December 11 at 3:00 pm. God has blessed our athletes with many gifts and talents. Let’s gather to give thanks and pray for a health-filled season.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass: Thursday, Dec. 12th at 7:50 am
All are welcome to join us for mass on December 12 at 7:50 a.m. Fr. Jason Isben from St. Patrick’s Parish in Watsonville will be our presider. Come join us for this special feast day!
LA Religious Education Congress: February 19-22, 2020
Ms. McLeod and Mr. Castaneda will be taking 22 students to the LA Religious Education Congress Youth Day. The cost will be $350 per person. More information and the sign-up opportunities will be e-mailed the week of December 16th.
