Trailing by 6 at the half, the Varsity Lady Sharks came back to beat Wesley College of Australia, 31-28. The Sharks were led by junior Izzy Shahmirza's, whose sharp shooting and season high 13 points led the Sharks to victory. Junior Sonja Shumake had a great all-around performance with six points, nine rebounds, six assists and four steals. Senior Toni Vargas hit a huge 3 with under two minutes remaining in the game to put us up by one. Sophomore Cameron Croghan sealed the deal with two clutch free throws with 44 seconds left. The Lady Sharks are now 3-0 with the Watsonville tournament starting on Thursday when we play the host school, Watsonville High, at 8pm.
