Both JV and varsity St. Francis baseball teams beat Watsonville on Friday night under the lights at Watsonville High School. The first game ended with a Sharks win 12-0 for the JV. In the headliner for the night the Sharks varsity had a comeback win by the score of 9-6.
The highlight performances of the night were pitchers Jonathan Carmona, Josh Rodriguez and Jack Peoples. Carmona threw 3 innings striking out 2 batters. Rodriguez threw 2 inning with 2 strike outs and was the winning pitcher. Peoples came in to close the door striking out 4 in 2 innings.
At the plate Sahid Valenzuela went 2 for 3 with 2 walks, 2 stolen bases, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Catcher Nick Ciandro went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, 3 funds scored and 2 RBI.
The Sharks varsity now moves to 4-1 and next play at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill on Tuesday March 11th at 4 pm. The JV team will host Live Oak at St. Francis the same time and date. Come out to support your Sharks!
