The Sharks girls basketball team won 27-19 over San Domenico in their first round regional playoff game. It's the Sharks second all time NorCal playoff win, the first came back in 2008.
The stars of the night for the Sharks were senior Amber Martinez, junior Sonja Shumake, junior Jessica Ward and sophomore Cameron Croghan. Shumake had 6 points with 10 rebounds. Martinez had 7 points and 6 rebounds. Ward had 8 points and 8 rebounds.
St. Francis was leading the majority of the game when San Domenico cut the lead to 2 points in the 4th quarter. Thats when sophomore Cameron Croghan stepped up and hit a 3 pointer to push the lead to 5 and the Sharks never looked back. The Sharks now have a chance to upset the #1 seed Brookside Chiristian of Stockton on Saturday night at 6 pm with the game being at Lincoln High School in Stockton. Come out and support your Sharks!
