5 Brave Swimmers vs An Army

The battle went on for days, and it seemed that there was end in sight when suddenly four courageous St. Francis varsity girls stepped up to the block for their 200 medley relay. Tina Arthur started off the relay with a beautiful 50 backstroke. Jane Salady then dove in to keep the battle going with her 50 breast. Big bad Yuli Rodriguez stepped up to the block to follow up and pulled of a Michael Phelps on that 50 butterfly. As the race came closer and closer to to the end, Karla Vasquez knew what she had to do, she had bring them home with her 50 free. As Karla dove in, the rest of the team cheered her as she approached the last 10 yards. And just like that, the girls finished with a time of 3 minutes and 35 seconds.

This swim meet was all about getting best times. Nick Delei showed us this in his 100 free after dropping 3 seconds off his personal best this year. Another swimmer worth mentioning is Jane Salady, who dropped 3 seconds off in her 50 free. Everyone is working hard and dropping more and more time each meet. Once again congrats to everyone who swam this meet and earned a personal best.

Next week St. Francis will be swimming against Soquel at Soquel at 4. Please come by and cheer on our St. Francis swimmers.
