Watsonville, Calif. - The St Francis men's and women's cross country teams each beat Mt Madonna at Pinto Lake County Park, Thursday at the first league meet hosted by the Sharks.
The Sharks raced their entire squad of runners.On the women's side, Cati Bianchi was the top Shark finisher, with a season best 22:19 for the 2.9 course. Olivia Burke & Alexis Rodriguez both ran a lifetime best in 24:23 & 29:12. Noella Mendoza held the Sharks 4th spot in 31:15. Jasmine Estrada & Andrea Rodriguez both turned in lifetime best with a 35:16 & 35:19.
For the men it was Paul Colosi with the top SF finish on the 2.9 mile course. The junior’s time of 17:08, moves him to 3rd on SF All-Time List. His time leads CCS Division 5. Braxton Rico held a 6:04 pace with a solid 18:13. Dynamic duo James Young & David Ambriz ran lifetime best in 18:45 & 18:52. Exchange student, Thomas Zhu secured the 5th spot in 19:32, a minute faster than last week. Nathaniel Ramos & Jerry Yu worked together along the trails & thus improved dramatically to give the Sharks the win over Mt Madonna.
The harriers will be at the prestigious Stanford Invitational Saturday, September 27th. They will be competiting against the best XC runners in the nation. Men 3pm & Women 3:30pm.
