The St. Francis Women's tennis team played well in the extreme heat at Santa Cruz High and defeated Santa Cruz, 4-3, to stay undefeated in conference play. Meg Guild, playing 3rd singles, was the first one off the court with a 6-1, 7-6 win. Megan Kelly, playing 4th singles, also won 7-5, 6-1. Izzy Shahmirza, playing #1 singles, closed her match out by winning 7-5,3-6, 6-1. The deciding match was won by the #2 doubles team of Rachael Boxwell and Colette LoBue 7-6, 6-2. The Sharks are 4-0 in league play and 7-1 overall and are playing in the Battle of the Bay Tournament this weekend. The Sharks will be playing University High and Head-Royce on Friday and Campolindo and Berkeley on Saturday.
