Code of Dance: Students are required to dance in an appropriate manner, in keeping with community standards. Vulgar or provocative dancing, such as freak dancing and grinding will not be allowed. Any dancing which is sexually suggestive, or which mimics sexual acts, is prohibited. Any student displaying inappropriate dancing will be warned once by a dance chaperone. Subsequent violations will result in the student being dismissed from the dance. Parents will be notified prior to the student leaving the dance. A student dismissed from a dance is liable for exclusion from future dances, as determined by the Dean of Discipline.
All purses and backpacks are subject to search. St. Francis High School is not responsible for personal belongings brought to the dance.
Dance Dress Code: Students not dressing in accordance to the dress regulations for the event will not be admitted to the event. Students who violate the dress regulations during the event are subject to being removed from the event. In such a case, a student’s parent/guardian will be notified prior to the student being excused from the event.
The expected dress for this event is semi-formal dress. Women must wear a dress, no skirts, pants, denim or short dresses. Dresses must be no shorter than four inches from the top of the knee. Backless dresses many not be lower than mid-back. Strapless dresses and spaghetti straps are acceptable if well supported. No visible cleavage. No flip flops or sport shoes.
Men must wear ties and long sleeve shirts with dress pants (no jeans). Sport coats or suit jackets are optional. No sneakers, sandals or flip-flops. Tie must stay on for the entire dance.
