The St. Francis football team earned a 42-16 win over Harbor on Saturday October 3rd. The Sharks ground game could not be stopped as they piled up 430 yards rushing. Many Sharks got to carry the ball, but Junior Andrew Ciandro led the way with 10 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown. Senior Tommy Carroll ran 9 times for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns. Junior Ivo Lasich ran 12 times for 93 yards and a touchdown. Senior Will Salady got his first action on offense of the season and ran 6 times for 63 yards and a touchdown.
The scoring wasn't only on offense as Sophomore Carson Cuzick returned the 2nd half kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. The Sharks defense held strong as the defensive line won the battle in the trenches holding Harbor to only 16 points. Lasich also had an interception as the Sharks forced 4 turnovers on the day.
The Frosh/Soph Sharks also got a 26-7 win over Harbor as freshmen Devin McLeod, Andrew Seymour and Vince Wolfe all found the end zone as well as sophomore James Young.
The Sharks have homecoming next Saturday as the festivities will start with a 9 am mass in the Borina Athletic Center. At 11 am the Frosh/Soph team will take on North Monterey County and varsity will kick off at 2 pm vs Livermore Valley Prep. A small change this year from past years is that homecoming court will be announced after the varsity football game instead of at halftime. Come out and support your Sharks!
