The St. Francis boys basketball game started the year off with a 46-41 win over the Live Oak Acorns of Morgan Hill. The Sharks spread the scoring around, the leader was Chase Watkins with 10 points, Jason Gallo poured in 8 points, Chase Vargas had 7 points and Dominic Figueroa had 6 points. Jason Kane hit a pivotal 3 pointer in the first half and Andrew Seymour hit a 3 pointer in the 4th quarter that put the Sharks in the lead for good. Ruben Ibarra and Ivo Lasich did work on the boards as the Sharks out rebounded the Acorns and EJ Kelly and Riley Scherr dove on the floor all night to compete for loose balls. It was a team effort in the win as all 10 players played quality minutes.
The Sharks next take the court on Thursday at the Alisal Tournament in Salinas. Tip off time is TBD based on the bracket. Go Sharks!
