Strong Start for Track & Field Team

Our Track & Field had their first meet this past weekend. Friday we competed at Watsonville High School in the Winter Time Trials where the boys finished 4th out of 7 schools and the girls also finishing in 4th place. Tori Yamaoka won the discuss and shot put and Cati Bianchi was 5th in the 1600 meter.
 
The girls Frosh Soph girls won their division with individual wins by Emma Ryan in the 100 meter, 200 meter and long jump. Samantha Bellucci win the triple jump and high jump. Sofia Ortega, Belluci, Olivia Burke and Chloe Delisegues won the 400 meter relay. Burke was a gold medalist in the 800 meters and 2nd in the 3200 meters. Riley Croghan won the 3200 meters and was 2nd in the high jump.
 
Leading the way for the boys were Paul Colosi who won the 1600 meters and 3200 meters, Braxton Rico won the 800 meters and David Ambriz won the high jump. The Sharks also had some team wins as Nathaniel Ramos, Michael Sanchez, Colosi and Rico won the Distance Medley.Ambriz, Ramos, Colosi and Rico won the 4x400 meter relay.
 
The boys Frosh Soph boys had a strong showing as they tied for first in their division. Dean Guenther won the 65 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles. Justin Parker won the 400 meter, Ethan LoBue won the Discuss and James Young won the 100 meter.
 
Great job Sharks! The first league meet is Thursday March 10th at SLV at 4 pm.
