Track & Field Team Finishes 2nd out of 18 at North Salinas Invitational

The Boys Track & Field team placed 2nd at the North Salinas Invitational where 18 teams competed at the 25th Annual meet on Saturday, April 9th. For the girls Sofia Ortega ran a lifetime best in the 100m & placed 7th in Triple Jump with another life time best.

The boys relay team consisting of James Young, Carson Cuzick,  Nathan Lee & Justin Parker won gold in the 4x100 meters with a season best time of 46.81 seconds. The same quartet doubled back to win in the Sprint Medley with a time of 1:44.35- 100m-Young, 100m-Lee, 200m-Cuzick, 400m-Parker. David Ambriz won the High Jump at 5'8", 4th in the Triple Jump & 1st in the Long Jump in his lifetime best of 19'6" while Cuzick was 2nd in the Long Jump at 19'3". Cuzick & Lee were 4th-12.09 seconds & 5th-12.17 seconds (lifetime best) in the open 100m, & Parker was 7th-12.20 seconds (lifetime best). Ethan Lobue notched a lifetime best in the Shot Put with a 37'11" -5th place. Noe Madrigal heaved the shot 31'9" for a season best & Angel Rico-Madriz tossed the discus 59' for a season best. Young placed 7th in the 400m.

 The 400m relay team qualified for the prestigious Top 8 meet, Friday April 22nd @ 3pm at Los Gatos High School. More qualifiers include  David Ambriz- Long Jump, Triple Jump & High Jump. Carson Cuzick- Long Jump & 200m, Justin Parker-200m, Paul Colosi 1600m & 3200m.

The Sharks will be back on the track, Thursday April 14th in a quadrangular meet against Soquel, Harbor & Mt. Madonna @ 4pm-Soquel High School.
