Our Softball team is getting better as the year goes on. Our Sharks beat Harbor 11-0 two weeks ago and went toe to toe with Soquel last week before falling short. Senior day for Softball will be May 5th vs. Harbor at St. Francis High School. Come out and support your girls.
Our Baseball team is in the mix for a league championship. Last week the Sharks beat Santa Cruz thanks to big hitting from Ruben Ibarra and company. Ibarra hit a home run vs. Santa Cruz and hit two home runs in the Sharks big win over San Benito of Hollister earlier in the season. Friday’s game was postponed vs. SLV due to rain. The Sharks are 5-1 in league play tied for first place with SLV and 11-7 on the season. The Sharks senior day will be May 3rd vs. Scotts Valley. Senior Danny Cervantes has signed a letter of intent to go to school and play baseball for CSU Monterey Bay next year. Cervantes has been pitching well for the Sharks and pitched a complete game in the win over San Benito. Congratulations, Danny!
Our swim team has been enjoying a wonderful season in the pool. The team is the biggest it has ever been; with only three seniors, the future is bright. Earlier in the season, we won our first ever SCCAL Dual Meet vs. Harbor and the Sharks have been very successful all year. The Sharks now look to the SCCAL Meet on April 30th at SLV High School. The Sharks senior day was this past Friday at Soquel.
The Sharks golf team has been playing well all year behind Senior Chase Vargas and Junior Jason Kane. The Sharks beat Soquel 245-288 last week as Vargas was a medalist with a 44 followed by a 48 by Kane and a 49 by David Vasquez. May 3rd at Pasatiempo Golf Course is the SCCAL Finals where Vargas and Kane will compete.
