Congratulations to the St. Francis boys basketball team on their 58-42 win over Santa Cruz in the SCCAL Championship game. The Sharks finished SCCAL regular season and tournament play undefeated. Junior Chase Watkins led the way in scoring with 16 points, senior Sandor Rene Rodriguez poured in 14 points and junior Jason Gallo had 10 points on the night. Seniors Ruben Ibarra and Dominic Figueroa pitched in with 9 and 7 points and senior Ivo Lasich provided a key basket off the bench in the 3rd quarter.
The Sharks find out tomorrow their seed for the CCS tournament as the Sharks have an automatic berth with winning the SCCAL. St. Francis does host the quarterfinal round of the Division V tournament next Saturday February 25th. The Sharks will find out later in the week the opponent and tip off time at the Borina Athletic Center. Go Sharks!
