Congratulations to the Boys and Girls St. Francis basketball teams as they both are moving onto the CCS finals and both have clinched a spot in the Nor Cal Regional Playoffs. The girls beat Stevenson 56-37 up at Alma Heights High School in Pacifica. Janiya Sevilla led the team with 15 points, Chloe Deleissegues had 13 points, Janessa Yniguez had 12 points, Megan Kelly with 10 points and Riley Croghan with 6 points on the night. The #2 seeded Sharks will play #1 seed Woodside Priory in the final.
The #1 seed boys beat Pinewod 67-51 to move onto the final where they will face #2 seed Woodside Priory on Friday. The Sharks were led by a 29 point performance from Chase Watkins, Jason Gallo chipped in 13 points, Sandor Rene Rodriguez scored 9 points, Ruben Ibarra had 8 points down low and Dominic Figueroa hit a pair of three pointers.
Both games will be played at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont with a time TBD. The tip off times will most likely be 5:30 and 7:30 pm. We will find out tomorrow whether the boys or girls play first. The Sharks will also find out over the weekend when and where their Nor Cal playoff games will be next week.
