SFHS Environmental Symposium

As a NOAA Ocean Guardians school, we are tasked with educating our community about sustainable ecological practices. The Ecology Club leader Nathaniel Ramos shared the idea of a multi-county High School environmental symposium. With the help from many Ecology Club members, we are excited to announce this event on Saturday March 25th, 2017 from 9am-1pm.

We have invited NOAA scientists, documentary film makers, Watsonville Wetlands Watch, MBARI, UCSC/CSUMB, Surfrider Foundation and other organizations promoting environmental protection. The keynote speaker for the symposium is California Assembly member Mark Stone.

During Zero Waste Week we will be promoting the organizations and encouraging HS students to attend the symposium. We have invited almost 50 schools from Santa Clara, San Benito, Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties. We hope you can attend the event which is open to the public. Please RSVP at [email protected] if you would like to attend.
