For more information on times and places please click the following link: http://www.rtspt.com/events/cif/2017Meets/ccsxc17/mp/#event3. The Sharks had a great season, thank you all who came out to Toro Park to support the boys and girls.

Your St. Francis Sharks volleyball team finished the season making it to the CCS Semi-finals of the Division V tournament. The Sharks finished with a 19-11 record. The SCCAL All League team has yet to be officially announced. When that happens we will post it on www.stfrancishigh.net. It was a great season for the girls as they beat Summit Shasta in the quarterfinals at St. Francis before falling to Mt. Madonna. The semi final match was played at Watsonville High School and there was a great crowd on hand for both playoff games. Thank you all who supported our girls in their playoff run and all season!

Our Sharks tennis team season is complete as Gabriella Gutierrez made it to the SCCAL finals for singles and Maya Talavera teamed up with Katherine Casper to make it to the finals of the SCCAL in doubles. The girls battled hard but fell a little short to Aptos in both the singles and doubles finals. Both were great matches!

We also want to congratulate Coach Gay Finch on a wonderful career coaching tennis. Coach Gay has decided to step down and retire as our St. Francis tennis coach and her husband Bill will also step down from coaching the girls. Coach Gay won the Golden Whistle Award and there are many St. Francis championship tennis banners on the gym wall under the leadership of Coach Gay. We thank both Gay and Bill for all they’ve done for St. Francis! We will miss you and please remember you’ll always be Sharks!

Your Sharks football team finished the season with an 8-2 record (school record for wins in a season) and co-champs of the MTAL coastal division. Unfortunately, the Sharks did not have the tiebreaker and finished a ½ point away in the CCS power points from a spot in the playoffs. The Sharks won on senior night vs. Soquel 42-7 to cap off the season. The All- league meeting is yet to take place and when the all league team is announced we will put it on our website. Thank you to all who came out to senior night to support our football and cheer teams as the home side of Watsonville High School was packed and rocking.

Lastly for fall sports we’d like to take a moment to thank all our seniors. We thank you for all your hard work and representing our school in a great way. We hope you play a winter and spring sport and please remember you will always be Sharks!

We now start winter sports. Our first contest is a scrimmage for Girls soccer on November 20th at Christopher High School. Girls basketball had a friendship game on November 20th at Monte Vista Christian that we won, and boys basketball opens their season on December 5th vs. PCS. Wrestling will begin their season on November 29th at Santa Cruz High School with the SCCAL Novice Tournament. Please check the athletics calendar for schedules of all our winter sports team and we can’t wait for those games/matches to start! Go Sharks!
