From the Coordinator of Youth Ministry

Dear St. Francis Families,

I pray for all your families to experience the wonder and love of our Savior's birth. I pray that the Christmas Season finds you all healthy and surrounded with those that love you. On January 6th we celebrate the Epiphany. This is the final day of the Christmas season where the three Kings come to Baby Jesus with gifts and their pledge to the newborn King.

LA Congress Youth Day is an event that happens once a year to celebrate the gift that young people are to our Catholic faith. The event happens at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim CA. It is a day of presenters, concerts, worship, and sharing our faith with 20,000 high school students.

The theme this year is Dare To Believe. The keynote speaker is Ms. Katie Prejean McGrady. She will speak of the holy men and women who have Dared to Believe and how their belief helped them to live with a daring faith.

Ms. McLeod and 4 other chaperones will be taking 25 students to the LA Congress. We wish we could take everyone but due to our limited housing and transportation we will only be able to take 25 students.

The cost of this trip is $325 per person. It includes everything except 2 lunches and 2 dinners. A non-refundable deposit of $150 is due by January 26. The deposit will save your spot.

Please contact Ms. McLeod at [email protected] with any questions.

Upcoming Masses and speakers

January 12, Ms. Jane Moresco
Ms. Moresco will speak on Grieving with Grace and Gratefulness. Ms. Moresco has experienced much grief in her life with the loss of her parents when she was 19, the loss of her brother, and the loss of her 21 year old son to suicide. She learned through grief that she had to trust herself to become stronger, grateful for her family that she had lost, and be open to what life had to offer her. She learned how the power of Grace and Gratefulness can carry you through the hardest time. Time TBA. All are welcome.

January 31 Don Bosco Feast Day

Thank You
Together as a community we collected 200 toys for the KSBW toy drive and our food bins were completely overflowing. I am so proud to be part of a community that cares so much for others.

Merry Christmas and Happy Epiphany,
Ms. Shannon  McLeod
