Your St. Francis Women's basketball team fell to 1st place Aptos 68-49 on senior night. St. Francis senior Janiya Sevilla had many great moments on the night and was rewarded with a trophy for over 1,000 points in her career. Meghan Clifton scored the first basket of the game for the Sharks and then exited to a huge ovation as she is out for the season with a knee injury. Shelby Velasco hit a few great shots, Samantha Castro hit a few shots as well. Chloe Deleissegues was out with an injury and senior Alyssa Vargas was out as well.
Over the last four years the Women's Basketball program has won 64 games and reached the Nor Cal tournament twice. The Sharks are still making a big push to make CCS and hope to make another year of going to Nor Cal. The Sharks will finish their regular season at Santa Cruz Friday night with a 5:30 pm tip off.
