Congratulations to your Sharks baseball team as they've now won 3 games in a row as they beat Scotts Valley last Friday by a score of 15-2. Chase Watkins pitched 6 innings striking out 11 and only giving up 2 hits. At the plate Blaise Magana went 4 for 5 and Derric Estrada-Haro led the team with 4 RBI.
On Tuesday afternoon the Sharks came from behind to beat Pacific Grove in extra innings. CJ Gomez started the game on the mound for the Sharks and was relieved by Andrew Seymour and Felipe Padia-Noriega. Padia-Noriega got the win as the Sharks won in 10 innings.
Today the Sharks beat Carmel 9-5. The Sharks were down 5-1 in the 3rd inning. Domenic Cordova came into pitch in relief of Josiah Granados and Cordova didn't give up a run the rest of the way. Granados at the plate helped the Sharks come back. In the field the Sharks were excellent as Brandon Moakler and CJ Gomez both made diving catches in the outfield. A Josh Kovacs bunt brought in Estrada-Haro to make it 5-3 and then Carmel walked in another run. Padia-Noriega hit in Granados and Watkins to take the lead 6-5 and the Sharks never looked back Julian Mendoza hit in Granados to make it 8-5 and then Watkins hit in Mendoza to make the score 9-5. The Sharks host Gilroy tomorrow with a 4 pm start. Come out and support your Sharks!
