Watkins was also named to the 1st Team Cal-Hi Spots Small Schools All State Baseball Team. Watkins was the ace pitcher for the Sharks who made it all the way to the CCS finals this season and the CCS semi finals last season. Watkins will head to Cal Poly in the fall where he will pitch for the Mustangs and major in business. He was also named Santa Cruz Sentinel Male Athlete of the Year and Register-Pajaronian Male Athlete of the Year for his work on the baseball diamond and his work in helping the Sharks make the CCS semi finals in basketball this past winter where he was a multi year All SCCAL pick and helped the Sharks win the 2017 SCCAL, CCS, Nor Cal and play in the State Finals.
