Thank you to all who came out to our fall sports senior days. All fall sports regular seasons have ended. Both the men and women’s Cross Country teams will compete at CCS at Crystal Springs on Saturday, November 10th. Congratulations to the women’s team who won the Santa Lucia division of the PCAL, the Sharks first division title in Cross Country in school history. Riley Croghan, Angelika Castro and Camryn Ryan, all made the All League team. On the men's side, EJ Kelly won the first ever league individual title and helped the men’s team to 2nd place in the PCAL meet. Kelly, Patrick McCarthy and Paul Kane made the PCAL All League team.
Our volleyball team has finished the season. Congratulations to Kathleen Tripp, who made 2nd Team All PCAL Mission Division and Janessa Yniguez, who was chosen for the Sportsmanship team for the Mission Division. This was Tripp’s 2nd year in a row making an All League team. We look forward to having a great 2019 season.
Your Sharks tennis team had a great year competing in the PCAL Mission Division. Gabi Gutierrez made it all the way to PCAL semi finals and finished the year with a 15-3 overall record. Sophia Fryn, Kayli Galster, Emily Wells, Emily Garcia, Marisa Vasquez and Santana Rigor also competed in the PCAL tournament. We also would like to give a big thank you to Pajaro Dunes for being our host facility this year!
Your Sharks football and cheer teams just had their senior day vs North Monterey County. The Sharks football team finished the season 4-6 in the Cypress division of the PCAL and the JV team finished 5-5. The Sharks will graduate a senior class that went 29-8 over their four years at St. Francis; when they were freshmen and sophomores they went undefeated on JV, their junior year they went 8-2 and helped raise the first ever league championship football banner at St. Francis. Our Seniors Andy O’ Rourke and Devin McLeod scored touchdowns on senior day to close out their stellar careers.
Thank you all for a great fall sport season. Winter sport practices are underway. The first contest for girls basketball will be a sportsmanship game on November 15th at St. Francis vs Monte Vista Christian. The boys basketball team opens their season on December 5th vs Pacific Point. Girls soccer opens on November 19th at Harbor and boys soccer opens up on November 26th at Monte Vista Christian.
